April 14 - 27 is our upcoming spring break. The facility will be open between 10:00 - 18:00, Monday through Friday with closures on Saturdays. Keep in mind that the facility will be closed on public holidays which fall on Friday 18 and Monday 21 of April.

Help us represent our community on TikTok

Dearest creatives,

This year we launched our a new channel on TikTok and would love to see your profiles so we can start to better represent our colourful community there too.

So if you’re on there, send a DM to https://www.tiktok.com/@catalyst.berlin saying hi and your name + what class you’re in. When a project pops up that you’d love others to see, send that with the comment “repost” and a sentence explaining what it is.

I’m also super proud of the videos made by our student ambassadors Tereza and Leo. They have been busy showcasing some of the best bits of our school, as well as giving sneak peeks into their practice. Make sure you show them some love too :)

PULSE: Summer edition - Open call

As the flowers start to bloom, so does our excitement for another incredible year at Catalyst! Friday 6 June is the culmination of all our successes both awarding fearless creators and dancing into the night!

Daytime: The Catties Awards
The Catties will kick off the celebration with a special awards ceremony. These awards recognise students who push artistic and technical boundaries, challenge conventions and support those around them in the pursuit of creative greatness. Full details on the awards categories can be found on moodle

Nighttime: PULSE
As the evening hours approach we’d like to feature the best production happening both by students and staff. Our goal is to fill the school with installations, performances, art and cinema - transforming Catalyst into a vibrant interactive space.

WISE: The future festival & think tank

May 15 - 16

We are so happy to announce the WISE festival, taking place in Berlin, May 15-16, 2025! At Pfefferberg, Festsaal Kreuzberg and Lynk&Co. The festival aims to bring together professionals and enthusiasts from the music industry, creative industries, and tech to discuss the latest trends and innovations in these fields. To make this event a success, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers like you to join our team. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management and work alongside industry professionals.

We are looking for volunteers to fill the following positions:

1. All-Rounder: Will assist with various tasks, including but not limited to, registration, ticketing, streaming and recording, guest services, and on-site coordination.
2. Registrations/Admissions: Will be responsible for handling registration and admission of guests and attendees, issuing wristbands, and managing the guest list.
3. Speaker Management/Registrations: Will manage the speakers' registration process, coordinate their schedules, and ensure they have the necessary equipment and resources.
4. Stage Management: Will be helping out the stage manager
5. Sound Tech: Someone who has some experience with setting up microphones, using a soundboard. They would assist the production crew.

We’re thrilled to share that Catalyst has been invited to curate a special guest feature at this year’s Soundbox Festival 2025, hosted by Oregon State University. This international digital media and multimedia festival will take place in early May at the stunning new PRAx facility (Performing Arts Building) - Learn more about the space

Soundbox has generously allocated 90 minutes of programming exclusively for Catalyst to showcase the creative work of our all of our music students, faculty, and staff.

We are currently accepting submissions of:

• Finished audio/visual works for remote playback
• Simple installation works that can be set up on-site by the PRAx team
• This is a unique opportunity to present your work to a broader international audience.

Examples of what we’re looking for:

• Fixed media pieces (audio or audiovisual)
• Stereo or multi-channel audio compositions
• Time-based digital works that do not require live performance
• Simple installation works (requiring minimal setup)
